What Is Man Power Planning?

I WANT TO INVENT A MAN POWER CAR. WHICH IS WORKING WITH THE HUMAN POWER LIKE A BICYCLE.but its much efficent.?

  • PLEASE SUGGEST I M FROM J&K. I WANT TO BECOME INVENTOR BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT .NO ONE GUIDES ME.I HOPE U HELP ME. I M 19 YEARS OLD.PLEASE.PLEASE HOW CAN I MAKE a car which is working with the power of man for e.g bicycle...but the car is 500% better than cycle.......

  • Answer:

Get an education. The most efficient and practical is a well-designed electric bicycle. The one in the photo has shrouds to improve the aerodynamics, and is a very practical commute vehicle to at least 45MPH.

I don't think this is possible. A human is able to propel a bicycle at about 10 miles per hour, and a bicycle weighs about 20 pounds. However a car is over 100 times that weight, so human power would be extremely inefficient at propelling a car.

Been done - You sit in the seat and peddle, as in some of those fun boats seen in small lakes and ponds. Or those rickshaw thingies that have someone peddle while the passengers sit in the back. Anyway, one makes the body of something like polystyrene, covers the rider compartment with a see-through material, and that's it. Oh, and you can have two people sharing the work load, just to cut done on the work, but it can operate with a single person. Bicycles, with their gearing, are very efficient in terms of their mechanical advantage, so, it's unlikely to make something "500% more efficient" - bikes are already close to 50% efficient, and the maximum efficiency of any mechanical contrivance is not like to be mush more than 50% efficient. You could also build in a flywheel to store energy, or use a clockwork kind of mechanism to aid the peddler, but those just make it easier to get the thing moving.

The work is yours. You have to come up with the specifics. My suggestions would include, you will need extremely lightweight, strong materials, like airplane materials. Be as aerodynamic as possible. Also you would have to use leverage and advanced gearing ratios, maybe an automatic transmission. Possibly consider using the hands and arms to pedal as well. Consider some kind of hybrid, further, such as solar or hydrogen so that the power comes from both man power and the other fuel source. Explore bio electric? Might be too weak, but worth a shot. There are ways to get electricity from pressure, look at that. Even a fossil fuel assist would still allow a person to get their workout, to reduce their carbon imprint, without slowing down. Look at the design for Chuck Yeager's airplane which was pedal powered, if I recall- don't reinvent the wheel. You've a noble undertaking in mind, this will require a lot of work but, if you get a product worth using (and find somebody to produce and buy it) you could be set for life. Morally and financially.

you could build a car which is powered by many men but for one man this would be a fruitless task. Of what materials would you construct the car ?... metal would be too heavy for one man to move in a practical way. The car would have to be as big as a bus in order to hold many men for the required efficiency. As a vehicle gets heavier , the fuel required to move it increases at an exponential value, A car which is twice as heavy as a nother will require more than double the amount of fuel. This can be extrapolated to mean that a car which is twice as heavy as a man-powered car will require more than twice as many men.

Uh yeah... good luck with getting someone to hand over an idea that could win a big prize. And good luck with even getting money, parts, sponsors, grants, and so on.

study physics and engineering so you can put numbers to your problem and ideas Humans get energy from food say 2,000 calorie a day which is a certain amount of joules energy \a joule is 1 watt * sec in electric terms a human put sour much less than 1 horsepower work say 500 watts for a well trained athlete and 200 watts for an average person it takes 100watts power just to live So man power vehicles like bicycles are about the best we can do a geared bicycle which allows the best power production from leg muscles at one speed to match the needed speed of the bike on level or hills is very well developed and is not lily to be improved much I favor bicycles with electric boost Internal combustion vehicles like gas and diesel are VERY VERY inefficient they produce mostly heat and only a little motion
