Things to do in the summer when you don't have a pool?

How can I get over my fear of pool lights,pool drains,and pool cleaners?

• Yes,get over it.I'm afraid of pool lights and pool drains.I'm not sure why I'm afraid of pool lights.I've been that way.The thing is,I'm only afraid of them when they're in the water.No,I'm not afraid of them electrocuting me.I'm not sure why I'm so afraid of them.Every time I get near one I try to swim away in panic mode(in which I can't swim very fast because I don't swim correctly in panic :/ ).One time I forced myself to lean against one with the other kids.That helped because I wasn't too scared,but I still had a kind of panic in the back of mind.I can explain to you all why I am afraid of pool drains.Not the things on the side of the pool though.Our family goes swimming at this one particular place.It has a small drain near the 5ft area.There's another one that I'm not too fond with.It's at the deep end.I like to get up on the diving board and peer into the water and look at it.It looks like a very big grate.It's dark,and in my opinion,very sinister looking.I can jump off the diving board no problem because I'm never able to touch the bottom of the deep end of a pool and I usual don't keep my eyes open when I jump into water from that height.The other drain is small,but every time I look down and see it(I still don't know where exactly it's located,all I know is it's at the 5ft mark)I freak out and,again,go into panic mode.The inside pool is just plain creepy though.There's also a drain in that one too,but that pool is much more shallow.One time I was swimming with my cousin in that pool.I didn't know that there was a large drain in that one.We were going to swim one lap from the end of the pool we started at,go to the other end,then come back.As we were swimming,I noticed the drain.I told myself "Don't panic,just ignore it!You'll be out of the pool soon." Which of course calms me down just a little bit,but it doesn't help too much.There's a lot of things that I'm afraid of but I usually can't explain why I'm so afraid.I still swim in pools no problem,I just have to stay away from the 'scary' things.Then there are the pool cleaners that I call 'Creepy Crawlies'.I can not stand those.I can't get near them,not even near the hose/pump.My friend's grandparents have a pool cleaner in their pool.It tends to stay in the deep end.I rarely go over there.If I do go over there,it's usually the opposite side that it's on.If it's in the middle then I won't go over there at all.If you go under the water,you can hear the ticking noise of the pump.It scares me a little bit because it sounds like it's right there beside me.Their pumps are okay,but the actually thing itself scares me.I'm guessing the way it looks?I just want to get over these fears this summer.Why must pools be so scary? o-o (And I tend to not get people's attention as I'm swimming away in panic from these things)

  well this is a phobia (fear) but psychologists cant explain the source of them. It is more easily explained however if you subscribe to the notion that we all have past lives... In any event such psychological problems can be ex[plained and eliminated with Scientology technology.
