Answer:
Can you? Yes. Will you? Unkown. It all comes down to drive, determination and money. You say you have talent, are you state ranked? If you are not racing your state qualifiers and at least placing in the top three of every race you enter (with the exceptions of DNF's), then you are not talented enough. If on the other hand, you are state ranked and always finish in the top three, you might have a chance. You can't just win at one track, you have to win at a lot of different tracks. Anyone can become a local "hot shoe" at one track, but it takes a skilled and talented rider to win at multiple tracks. Money is one of the main problems that stops most privateers. After your initial investment of a bike and custom fitting the bike to your style of racing you then have to figure in all the other costs. Fuel costs for your transportation and your race bike. Hotel costs or at least the price of KOA's (I slept a lot of nights in motel Dodge), bike maintenance, food costs and entry fee's. When I was racing pro I was burning through 30 gallons of race fuel a week (practice during the week and then the race on the weekends). The cost of race fuel alone will almost make it impossible to race professionally. If you are talented, skilled, have drive, determination and cash, you can make it in professional racing. Good luck,

At 17 you should be on the podium in state titles and winning other events as well as being able to mix it with the faster guys, If you haven't and can't do the above you are not more talented than the average guy. To turn Pro you have to be well above the standard of 'average', only a few riders each year will get to race pro and of them even less will last more than a year or two. The major draw back is a new bike each year and the cost of racing at pro level as well as getting to race meeting every weekend during the season. Riding your local track when a meeting is held there will mean you will never be a pro racer. You will need to commit yourself to a hard training routine, but from the way you asked your question you already sound half defeated talking about giving up, If that thought is in your mind I doubt you can make the commitment to be a pro racer. But so what, you can still enjoy the sport at any level you race at. Remember it only the top half dozen pro riders that make 90% of the money, the rest pay to race the same as a C grade rider...

No sorry you will not make it as a pro rider and as someone else has pointed out that if you think you feel the need to ask on here then you have no idea at all about what it takes. Someone else has pointed out that you may make it as good as Gavin Faith and well I think that would be pretty darn optimistic. Gavin is a young rider with many years ahead of him and he is really starting to move forward. He may not take it much further but he is a capable rider and also a very nice, quiet and well spoken young man. So he has what it takes to move into 2013. I know how much work he has put in to make it where he is and part of that is living most of the time at a top training camp in the USA. This camp costs thousands to attend so to even be on Gavin's level a rider needs deep pockets.

If you've got parents with money to support you, then go for it, but if not, then it might be hard. Just practice a lot and try and qualify for Loretta's.

There is no for sure answer now but if really want to, you should go all for it. Spend all the time you can on training and learning to become better at racing. Just have very good mental confidence and don't doubt yourself. Thinking stuff like "i cant do this" or "i give up" will get you no where. Also you need to win a lot of races. When people see how good you are they will want to sponsor you and that will get you noticed. Once you win A LOT of races, someone might come to watch you race that will want to sign you to their race team. So good luck and i got faith in ya ;) O and p.s. nice name lol :)

Are you currently racing and winning NOW? If yes, then only you know if you have the money and time to continue campaigning. If you are currently NOT racing, then no, you will never become a pro racer. If you don't have access to LARGE amounts of money, then no, you will never become a pro racer. Doesn't matter how much talent you think you have, unless you are currently racing every weekend and winning, then no, you will not become a pro racer.

If you were into motocross as much as you said you are, than you would know if you could become a pro or not. Most popular MX stars start getting home schooled at an early age, so they really start to get committed early. They spend ALL their time focusing on MX. If you have 75 advancement points and some true talent, apply for your AMA pro license and maybe start from arenacross. I doubt you will go straight to supercross, but I don't know. If you have anything else going on in your life, ask yourself if it's more important. Motocross is one of the most time and money consuming sport on the planet. It takes years and years of day after day practice to get as good as the SX stars. I think the farthest you could go is maybe Gavin Faith, the rising star. He is starting to get more popular as time goes. Now he is on JGR. You could be like him if your are really talented.

I am sure you would like to hear 'yes you will' or 'give it a go as you never know' but from your other questions a while ago I can see that you are riding or racing an older 250f so that says you cannot be racing at a high competitive level as a bike a few years old will in no way cut it with racing in 2012. Riders with any chance at making it have to have at least two brand new bikes each year and that is minimum as they get tired easily and the work to get them race ready is huge so unless you have deep pockets you will be behind right there. Besides these two bikes specifically for racing they usually have a practise bike. Clutches are most often a one use thing at pro level and so are tyres so unless you are on a team or have huge support from the supplies you won't be running the same tyres and you won't be able to change clutches often enough. Races can easily be lost at pro level as the clutch is slipping in a very small way on the start line. If you are not already racing at A grade level and don't know how to set a bike up or how to read a track then you have no chance at all. You may think you are good where you ride each time you do but that means nothing as the local top rider can often pull lap times similar to the pro rider just riding the track for the first time but pro riders will arrive at tracks they have never seen before and walk the track analysing the approach they will take to riding this track, they can also alter their riding during the day for the changed conditions as a track that has had 80 or more pros lapping around it is not the same later in the day as it is early. I know one pro rider who also walks the track after the race as he says he learns a huge amount from looking at the track afterwards. Also anyone asking on here if they can be pro riders in my opinion will never make it as most of them know where they are headed from 4 years old and if they asked anyone it would be high profile people in the sport that they already know from the contacts they have made over the years. A lot of mx is not what you know but who. This may all sound harsh but it is the truth.

Sorry to put it to you like this but if you dont have money no, if you arent placing as of now with a class no, if you dont have determination.... hell no
