Cartilage piercing infection?

Cartilage piercing POSSIBLE infection?

  • I got my cartilage (helix) pierced a few weeks back. The third day of having it done is started bleeding really heavily, but within the next day that stopped and I had no problems with it. Up until Friday when I noticed that it had started weeping out of the piercing area on to the hoop earring I have. Saturday it had still been doing the same except it kind of looks as if there has been bleeding, as if a scab type thing. Today I tried cleaning it and I got a really sharp pain when doing so. It doesn't hurt at all apart from that. Thanks :) this is pretty urgent! aha :)

  • Answer:

It doesnt sound infected I got my cartilage pierced twice and the first time (not done professionally lol) got infected. It was really really swollen from both sides and super red. And it hurt a lot The second time hurt as well, even days after when I would move it around so I wouldn't worry too much about yours just keep moving it and cleaning it. If you notice swelling, pus, or anything gross like that then take it out

Other answers

Extreme swelling, redness, and constant throbbing pain are signs of an infection. If you're still worried, go back to where you got it pierced and consult the piercer. They should be a trained professional and can check it out.
