Think I have ADHD/ADD but don't know how to bring it up? 10 points promise?

Basically I think I have ADHD but I only have symptoms of the innatentive type I think so I guess ADD. I am 14 years old and I'm a girl and as its the innatentive type my parents haven't really noticed it but I have because it effects my school work and I can never listen when people talk to me because my mind starts to wander and I stop looking at them when they're talking to me, and I always interrupt my friends without thinking and they think I'm rude when I do these things but I can't help it and its other things too + other sypmtoms etc so I guess what I'm asking is if I have it I don't want it to affect my school work but it does so what should I do? And I can't ever get diagnosed at a doctors anyway without my parents and I'm worried and embarresed about bringing it up and I don't really want to.. What should I do? No harsh comments please? Only serious answers please 10 ponts I promise

Answer:
I have ADHD,OCD and a form of autism its best to tell your parents and get them to take you to the doctors its nothing to be embarredsed about it just means you see thing differenty than others, i had all the sypmtoms you have but they have calmed down now after i went to the doctors. my doctor put me on medication and my life is way better, i got diagnosed when i was 11 and now im 18, i got 6 GCSE's and i have a job. it doesn't affect your life too much just tell ur family and go to the doctors trust me it will get easier :-D

Well it is really best to let a doctor diagnose what is wrong with you. The symptoms you have could be any # of things. It could just be a phase that you are going through or it could be that your hormones are out of whack just to name a few. Regardless most parents want whats best for their children and if you have concerns i am sure your parents want to know what they are. Possibly it might help to write your parents a letter and give it to them right before you leave for school. If you do that then they will have time to think before they react and you will have time to think about what it is exactly you want them to understand about how you are feeling.in your letter. The site below has a great Book for teenagers that you can go on line and read. It has many topics that concern young people. It is called Young People Ask. I hope that i have helped
tell your parents, your parents will take it serious because they want whats best for you. tell them how you feel, and how you think you have ADHD and how its effecting you and that you want help
