I assume that your teacher wishes you to point out the fact that both the "Black Plague" and the "Hundred Years War" were anomalies to the Medieval period; but, death by disease and war is more prevalent in 20th & 21st Centuries (i.e. are seen more as a part of the continuity of modern history).
