Can seniors take the ACT after they graduate?

Why didn't my teachers let me take this class?

  • I am 18 and on a IEP for autism and it says that all seniors must take Economics in order to graduate. But the thing is, my case manager and my councilors will not let me. I begged my parents and my councilors and case managers to let me take it but I don't know why they will not let me do it. They told me the reason why I cannot take it is because they think that it is too hard for me and for some reason that just makes me feel even worse when they think I can't do something. Ive taken hard classes before and gotten straight As in them. But when I see other seniors on a IEP or just regular seniors in that class they just make me mad. Whenever someone my grade asks me if I have it and I tell them no they panic and say that I need to get that in order to graduate. I am on a modified diploma and I am not so sure why they won't let me take it but it just makes me really mad that I am not in that class like everyone else. I have brought it up obsessively with people and they just won't let me take the class. I wonder what can I do about it? I think it is now to late but I want to go to college but I'm not so sure some colleges will accept me for not taking certain classes. I wonder if community college has a program where I can take those classes over. What should I do about this problem?

  • Answer:

Talk to your parents on how you feel and if they are still that way, talk to the actual teachers and school administrators
