Should i apply for jobs now before relocating?

Relocating to Georgia, is there a place online where I can search jobs besides Craigslist and such?

  • Looking into the Savannah/Ft. Stewart area to relocate. Looking for a good, full time job and just want to be pointed in the right direction to look in the right spot. I am currently an Office Manager for a Home Health Care staffing agency and my Husband is a retired Master Sgt. From the Army, but is working full time as a Facilities Coordinator for a non-profit and looks to continue working in a similar position, but is open to new options too. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

  • Answer:

If you're seeking Ft. Stewart area...they may have civilian jobs nearby. Check Savannah Chamber of Commerce. Contact Health Care staffing agencies directly. You will not get anywhere with those websites. Less than 10% of the people applying online actually get jobs here in GA---signed Georgia Dept of Labor. fyi...craigslist jobs are usually legit, half of the employers here are small firms/entrepreneurs so they run free ads often on craigslist. it is very competitive in GA...so don't get discouraged...just keep on trying! One more thing...the hub here for work is accounting, attorneys, dental, real estate, paralegals, bankers, finance,.....

Try signing up with a couple of staffing agencies such as Office Team, Robert Half, etc. Many times you can have access to temp or temp to hire positions that they are managing.

It also doesn't hurt to post your resume for free on the new online classifieds website at www.tupatu.com Its the first classifieds website that gives back to its users by giving instant reward points just for posting an ad. I've also noticed job postings on this website as well. Its a pretty cool site. You have nothing to lose by checking it out for yourself! www.tupatu.com

You can always check the local newspaper want ads. Online there are always places like Monster.com I would avoid Craigslist completely. I don't think that is a very reliable or a trustworthy site.
