What's the strongest sleep medication?

Anxiety disorder and I can't sleep!?

  • I have really bad anxiety disorder, and right now it's currently 12:00 A.M. So the day just started. I have an exam tomorrow that's making me really un settled. But it doesn't count cause I'm re taking it next year, but the enviorment is whats making me nervous. If I don't sit near my friends I'll probably have an attack. I do have some medication that will make me sleep but I'm not suppose to use it all the time. But If I can't fall asleep in the next hour. I'm going to take it. Do you have any advice or tips. Do you think I'll survie the exam? The first session is 81 minutes long.... Thanks for any help!

I understand how you feel, I sometimes don't fall asleep until 3:00 AM or 4:00. If you have studied for the exam, I'm sure you'll do fine. Sometimes, you don't even need to study, you'll just remember everything (i know that works for me). Also, if you want to fall asleep faster, try reading a book in really bad lighting. It strains your eyes and makes them tired and then you just HAVE to close them and then you end up asleep. Im just suggesting what works for me, so good luck with your exam tomorrow :)

You'll be fine during the exam, nothing bad will happen, don't worry. I suggest you buy melatonin, it's a vitamin to help you sleep, it's all natural so there's no need to worry about taking it as long as you take the right dose. I have anxiety a lot and it helps me sleep. Good luck!

Are you anxious all the time or just because you have an exam tomorrow? If you're anxious because of the exam, I think you can take the sleeping pill, maybe 1/2 of it???? Some sleeping pills can make you feel drowsy in the morning. Have you talked to a doctor about your anxiety? There are medications for generalized anxiety that are not sleeping pills. Exercise, watch the caffeine and slow down your activity at bedtime. No computer, TV, cell phone use right before bed. Keep it quiet, dark and cool in your bedroom - maybe some soft music or CD's with soothing sounds. Good luck.

You need to get off the computer and stop worrying. If you can't sleep, read a book (not an e-book) for about 20 minutes. You should start to get sleepy and be ready in the morning. You'll do fine on your exam.
