Why don't people care about the earth?

Can someone tell me why some people expect other people, that they dont know, should take care of them?

  I understand your thinking 100% agree. They try to lay a guilt trip on hard working people. I guess they have this way of thinking because someone in government told them so and they think socialism is the way to go. All I can say is--vote. It's not greedy to want what you've worked for---it's greedy to want what someone else has worked for.
