If i change my name on facebook will people still be able to search me up?

I heard that people search your name on facebook/other social networking sites when you apply for a job/college/ect, i was wondering if i change my name on facebook will people still be search me? I know there are some people out there that would dig stuff up and ect, i do not want to have my personal information and posts looked at as i am trying to apply to college or for a job in the future, i already am planning to make a faux alternative facebook account in case people decide to search me up on facebook so that "clean" account comes up instead of my main account. Do you think this will work? I need your opinion on this.
