Question about army physical profile?

• My husband had open back surgery 3 months ago. On his profile, there are two options. One is "can wear helmet for a minimum of twelve hours" and "can ride in a military vehicle a minimum of twelve hours". Both sections are marked "no". His NCOIC in the field is telling him that because his profile says a minimum of what it does, he is making my husband wear his Kevlar and IBA (which is a BIG no no after that surgery) IN A MILITART vehicle, saying that they can make him do it, as long as it isn't for twelve hours at a time. He is in MASSIVE amounts of pain and is barely functional with what they are making him do. Can they do this? please no smart comments like "they can make them do whatever they want, he shouldn't have signed up...ect". Can they really do that, and it is still not breaking his profile? He is in the med board process, and we are REALLY worried that he will hurt himself further. Plus, if he breaks profile in ANY way, it can screw with his medboard. Any answers, or ideas where I can bring this question would be more than appreciated.

  He needs to address the profile with his physician. The NCOIC is reading the profile, but not applying common sense. The 12 hour rule is for a standard to do a job. That sounds like the overall form. There should be a more specific list of instructions for treatment after the surgery. If he is in pain, he should be able to go on sick call to get a more specific list of instructions.
