Avon Sales Rep Advice!! Urgent and desperate for answers!?

I've just started with Avon, I made my first order last night. I first ever logged in and it had "Account balance: $42.70" on the home page. I can't get a job what so ever, and this was all I had given the opportunity for. I'm already scraping my *** on the floor to afford to live, and so far Avon seems like its chewing my money more than earning me anything. Anyone have any tips to make sales? Or does anyone have any advice? I need to know the brutal truth whether or not this is worth me continuing before it eats all my money. The ONLY money I have is for bills, rent and food, I don't have any money for anything else. Please help?!

I never made an money with Avon, it seriously was a friggin waste of my time & money!! I am sorry to tell you but you probably should just stop wasting your time, Avon doesn't generate that much income for people these days, it's saturated. I work with It Works! I LOVE selling Avon but you get out of it what you put in to it. Avon is primarilly a commission based job so you need to get out and meet people, deliver the brochures, follow them up regularly and look professional at what you do. I usually make around $300 every brochure in profit but I've made Avon a priority in my life and not many reps seem to do that. Use the skills of your sales leader & don't be afraid to ask for help to get going. Most Sales Leaders are more than happy to help you out and even go out looking for new customers with you if you have a territory. Getting a territory can HUGELY boost your sales because then you have allocated streets/suburbs that you can deliver to. Don't be scared to knock on doors (ask your sales leader to go with you if you need to). If your having problems covering the cost of the brochures ask your sales leader or district manager if they have any spare to get you going until you start to make more profit. It's slow to get started but once you have at least 15 - 20 regular customers you can really start to make some money. Start by making a list of 20 people you know who you can ask to buy Avon and contact them, then contact everyone in your phone, FB or on your email account. You can also save heaps of $$$ by using E-brochures rather than buying the actual paper brochures and you can send them via the net. Another good tip is that each District Manager has a Sales Event Night every couple of months which are really good to attend because then you meet other reps in your district who always have great tips for more sales. The first things I would be doing are: 1. Make a list of 20 people plus use ALL your contacts. 2. Contact your District Manager for a Territory 3. Go out and meet EVERY SINGLE person in your territory and offer them a brochure 4. Use your Sales Leader/District Manager if you need help 5. Approach businesses about leaving a brochure in their lunch room/front desk The $$$ already on your account would be the representatives gift set and the cost of delivery for it but if you've already placed an order then that will balance it's self out. Sell the gift set for more than what you paid and you have instant $$$ in your pocket.
