What is the typical starting salary for a lawyer in California?

For a person who just graduates from law school and gets an offer from a company? My friend just graduated and now has an offer for $150,000 a year and they are paying to relocate him etc. is this a normal starting salary with a law firm for someone who just graduated? Just curious because I might go and take the bar exam now and become a lawyer after seeing my friends offer letter.
