What to bring to Boston?
-
I'm fourteen and my grade is taking a field trip to Boston for one day. We are visiting the Boston Science Mueseum and going on some duck tour. I was wondering what should I bring? I'm bringing a snack for the trip there, hand sanitizer because the water never works on a coach bus, my iPod to use during the drive, and my iPhone to take pictures. Thanks.

Answer:
Comfortable shooes - sneakers, not flip flops or sandals. Also - wear socks. Lots of kids don't, and sneakers will rub your feet badly when you are marching along with a tour guide. You'll be thankful later on. Make sure you take a jacket - it actually gets very breezy near the ocean, and there can be a 5 to 10 degree difference when you go into town. You'll also be out on the river during the Duck Tour, and it can get cold out there. Throw a little mini hairbrush in yoru backpack too. You might want to hard boil a couple of eggs the night before, for your breakfast - a good breakfast will keep you going for far longer than any snack. Don't run out without a decent breakfast, or you could end with motion sickness. There are actually a couple of restaurants in the Museum of Science, with really decent food. They'll probably take you in there to eat - you shouldn't have to worry about lugging around drinks. The Mueum of Science is very well kept, and there are hand sanitizer dispensers in a lot of places. You're right about the buses though - never a bad idea to take some of your own. If you can, you'll want to take some spending money, if they let you go to the Museum shop - it's a wonderful place that has all sorts of cool stuff you won't see elsewhere. They have small stuff for a few bucks, and other things that are more - hope they let you stop by there. That's pretty much it - maybe sunglasses, too - HAVE FUN!

Bring a drink (or several), and make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Chances are you'll do a lot of walking around the museum and the city, and parts of Boston have old brick/cobblestone, so you don't want to be stuck in uncomfortable shoes that cramp your feet. Have fun!

The most important thing to bring to Boston: Your bus/train/or plane ticket, because you are going to want to LEAVE that miserable dump of a city as soon as possible. Just don't forget that and you'll be set. The best part about going to Boston is LEAVING Boston! Miserable Puritans belong in the 17th century!
