Fm radio on iPod?

FM Ipod Radio Transmitter?

  • I want to get an iPod FM Transmitter for my car since my cassette transmitter doesn't work. I have a Honda Civic 1998 and I'm not sure what kind of transmitter to get. I found this http://www.amazon.com/Mount-Holder-FM-Transmitter-iPhone/dp/B003XI8GCU/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1336933102&sr=8-16 But I'm not sure if it would work in my car or not. I know you are suppose to plug it in but the only thing I could find in my car that was remotely close to a plug is this thing called Power Outlet 10V-12A. Can someone tell me if this transmitter would work in my car or what kind of transmitter I can get? Thank you so much!

  • Answer:

Yes it will work. The big plug on the end of the cable is for powering the device. It plugs into the power outlet you found. The ipod sits in the holder and plugs into your ipod. You then play the ipod and the device transmits an FM signal out over the frequency you select. You tune your FM radio to the same frequency and listen over the car speakers that way. The trick is finding an unused frequency in your area. Then you're all set.
