Adding a wired printer to Mac OS X?
-
I recently wired a Canon printer to my Macbook running OS X through a USB cable. How do I add the printer to my laptop so I can print to it? If I unplug my laptop from the printer, will I have to add the printer again?

Answer:
Open a document and go to File > Print. If the system correctly detects your printer you will see its name in the Printer pop-up menu. If not, you will have to add the driver yourself. See link for details. You should only have to do this once, as the driver remains installed on your system even after you disconnect the printer.
