Is this an inner ear infection?

Is dizziness and ear ringing normal with inner ear infection?

  • 3 days ago i went to the ER because i started getting real dizzy and my right ear was ringing and clogged. They said i had a inner ear infection. Im on antibiotics and my ear is no longer clogged. But it does ring now and then and i get a little dizzy at times?Im fatigued also. Is this normal and how long will it take to get better? Im seeing my ENT in 2days?

  • Answer:

I'm the same as you - ear infection and sinusitis. I have two more days left of antibiotics, ears are unclogged, but quite lightheaded and ringing (which went away after starting antibiotics) has come back. I think we just need to give it time, as a couple of people have told me ears take a while to settle down after an ear infection. I found warming up some jojoba oil and putting it on cotton wool and then into my ear helped to soothe the soreness. Also, drinking plenty of water will help with the dizziness. But, if it perseveres do go and see your ENT again. Good luck!

Yes an inner ear infection can certainly effect your balance and give you ringing in your ears. The antibiotics will also make you tired even if the infection isn't. Yes this is normal, keep taking your antibiotics until you finish them even if you are feeling better before they are done please!

Yes because your equilibrium if off. It's awful, but it is fairly normal. Call the doctor just in case though.
