Video and Film Production Schools?

Tips to achieve a video editing/film production career?

  • Hey guys, Brief introduction, I'm 16 years old currently going through my GCSE exams. For GCSE optional choices I decided to study Art, ICT, Music and History, as well as the compulsory subjects for my school. I've always been creative and my goal for a career path is to become a video editor/film producer. I understand that a 'video editor' is a very broad profession. I am more interested in the special effects, and composition side of editing. There are various YouTubers such as FreddieW and his team that do the exact profession. For A-level, I am going to study ICT, Art, Maths, English and History. A good balance between strong core subjects and creative subjects. I was wondering if anybody could give me tips to get to this career stage? I've already participated in various work experience weeks with people in the profession and it's definitely the career choice for me. As well as this, I have made myself familiar with various editing software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, and Apple's equivalent. I would really appreciate any tips and advice to work towards this profession because I understand the media industry is very competitive. Thank you, Ben
