Where To Buy Fresh Cab In UK?

Where to buy rats in London Uk?!?

  • Where to buy rats in London Uk?!? I live in London and have want to buy rats for the past few months. But, I can't find anywhere that does them. I don't want to buy them from a pet shop because i heard they are much nicer from breeders because they are held from an early age? Anybody know a breeder who is selling rats? Ive bought the samo 82 cage is this good? how many rats could live in it? What is the best number to buy do you think?

I live close to London, in Surrey, and had the same trouble! I didn't want to wait for the NFRS, so I had a look on Gumtree for some breeders. My first two rats came from a breeder in Welling (the London side of Kent) who, when I checked a couple of days ago has Russian Blue babies for sale at the moment. But truth be told, Jonny is right. I currently have 7 ratties, 5 of which are from breeders, and two from a pet shop. I heard horror stories but I couldn't resist these little'uns. If you ask the pet shop owners if you can hold them (not sure if pets at home let you?) but a good indicator is if the pet shop people are confident with them. If they stick on a glove to get them, you probably want to assume they're not that tame. My new two babies are no less confident than the ones from the breeders, you just want to make sure that the ones they have in at least won't bite you. Bonding with them is fun :) Don't forget though, with any new babies, they will be scared and need lots of patience and love. They are lovely little things :)

Pets at home. It is a pet store but they are all vet checked.

Haha your just like me before I got my rats :) Ok so if you are desperate for a breeder then email the NFRS Link to email page: http://www.nfrs.org/findingabreeder.html In a few days they will email back to you with a big list of breeders. Only about 2 are in London (I have a list). If you go for a breeder then you may have to wait 2 months if they are not ready, this is what happened with me so I bought them from pets at home. Breeders just handle them a bit more so they are a bit more tame for you but taming them is fun. In pets at home the rats there come from reputable breeders and are often vet checked (you won't get pregnant females or rats with illnesses). If you really think breeders are worth waiting for ages and their rats only a bit more tame then go ahead. I got two lovely male rats from my nearest pets at home a week ago today but now they are quite confident. The samo 82 cage is fine. As long as you will it with toys and good bedding (not aspen or pine shavings because these cause respiratory infections in rats). That cage can fit about 8 rats so it is fine unless you get 9 or more rats (I would advise not to :D). Remember to feed them good food (rat nuggets) and not seed mixes as they can pick and choose. I would say 2 is the best number because it less work than 3 and exactly the same work as 1. They can not be on there own anyway because they get extremely lonely and probably live a shorter life because of depresion unless you spend like 8 hours a day with them. I hope you have fun with your rats and good luck getting them if you get them from a breeder. Jonny :)
