What's the linear mass density of a string?

The density of a gas is 4.65 g/L at STP. WHATS the gas’s molar mass?

  • The density of a gas is 4.65 g/L at STP. Calculate the gas’s molar mass. Answer in units of g/mol please help me!

  • Answer:

At STP 1 mole of any ideal gas occupies a volume of 22.4 L So if we work out the mass of 22.4 L of the gas at STP then that will be the mass of 1 mole (molar mass) density = mass / volume Therefore mass = density x volume mass of 1 mole at STP = 4.65 g/L x 22.4 L = 104.16 g thus molar mass = 104 g/mol (3 sig figs)
