How can I make a tiger costume?

• A friend is having a biiig party with my whole year invited and it's fancy dress. In keeping with my bright ginger hair, I want to go as a tiger - I want to look hot but not trampy. I'm already thinking ears, and face-painted black nose and whiskers, maybe even a tiger-print lip tattoo or something. Thing is, I don't want to splash out on a costume, and apart from anything, costumes tend to be either not hot at all, or so slutty it's shameful. Plus I can't find a tiger costume anywhere. So how can I make a tiger costume without breaking the bank, which is hot but not attention-grabby or slutty, and which is not too OTT but still looks like I'm joining in and making an effort - I don't want to look like one of those girls who takes herself too seriously and wears something that's technically in keeping with the theme, but that isn't a real costume because they don't want to embarrass themselves, like for example if the theme is 'Doctors and nurses' and they wear a t-shirt with a cross on it and a barely-there mini-skirt or something. I hate that, it's annoying and a complete cop-out. So any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

  How about............ Buy some bright orange tights (Primark?) and get some black ones too. Put on the orange ones normally, then cut out stripes from the black ones and put over the top of the orange ones to create the tiger stripes? You could also do this with the top with an orange vest top and maybe a baggy black top with cut out stripes and an orange belt and then do the tiger lip tatoo and black nose with whiskers?
