How to upload photos to an ubuntu computer?
-
I have a canon powershot sd1000 digital elph 7.1 megapixels and i've been taking pictures with it (duh!) and im using a 2gb memory card, but i want to save these photos to my computer for facebook. I do not know how to the put the photos on my computer. I know how to put them on using Windows, but my computer is Ubuntu, so i don't know how. I am in need of help and will take whatever you have to give.

Answer:
Shotwell is the default photo manager in Ubuntu, inserting your memory card should automatically launch that program, and you can import your pictures from there. If the above doesn't happen, it's possible you haven't told Nautilus (the file manager) what application you would like to handle pictures. In Ubuntu 12.04, go to System Settings>Details>Default Applications, and make sure Shotwell is selected in the Photos dropdown.
