  • i am 28 5ft 2 and weigh 200lbs i desperately want to lose weight i have been eating a small bowl of cereals for breakfast 3 crackers with low fat cheese spread on with banana for lunch then a child portion of things like chicken and potatoes white fish and veg salad and some mince and sausages again only child size portions and on top of that i have been doing 30 mins everyday of zumba but over this last 2 wks i have only lost 1 lb so what am i doing wrong i asked on a dieting advice forum on fb and was told i should be eating 2300 cals to lose weight but i thought its only recommended to eat 2000 for woman normally so how will i lose weight eating that much my food t moment only add up to about 1000 cals can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong so as not to lose the weight please cause i really want to lose this weight i find it very hard to do the exercise as i have fibromyalgia so my muscles hurt a lot after the exercise so it is very disheartening that i am putting myself in pain and seeing no results would really appreciate some helpful advice please

It's important to remember that the more you exercise, the more you have to eat and vice versa. 30 min of zumba every day is great, I hear it burns a lot of calories. But in a diet you cannot only count calories to do a good job, you have to think about what type of calories you eat. For example carbohydrates gives a lot of energy over a short amount of time and is therefore smart to eat before zumba. Fat and proteins last a lot longer, and a lot people tend to eat more fat and proteins and less carbs (this is what they call low-carb diet). Now dont run to McDonalds just yet because they put a lot of other stuff in their food. So make sure you the the right amount of the right food. If you use more calories than you cnosume, you will eventualy loose weight. Don't give up!

are you on any medications--many cause weight gain how is your thyroid.....if your TSH is at least 3.0, you need to consult an endocrinologist as many people are symptomatic for hypothyroid at that level even though it is considered to be normal

You are significantly overweight, you should ideally be 110 pounds. The most at 5"2 to weigh and still be healthy is 135...but being that you weigh 200 pounds you should really seek the help of a nutritionist and be under the care of a doctor. Diet and exercise is what you need but you need the help of professionals.

wow, what terrible english for a 28 year old. Get some lessons. you are fat. You must have been eating a lot of crap to get that fat. forget low fat spread. Correct breakfast is CARBS; porridge or muesli with milk and that banana. (ignore the low-carb brigade, they are all fat fools) you need to eat more veg and not fatty sausages. no wonder you are fat with this level of cluelessness about nutrition. 1000 calories is starvation. Go to 1800 and you need an HOUR of exercise EVERYDAY for LIFE. Turn up to 2000 once you are at goal weight; will take about 2 years. ask a doctor to educate you about nutrition, not stupid internet forums. I'm talking sense but very few other people do. also try swimming, easier on muscles and joints.

The Guided amount but just exercise as well .. and make sure you have your fruit and veg! cut all sugar out of your diet to :)

Maybe just 1500-2000 Calories a day :) Plus alot of exercise but don't starve youself, Good luck :)
