How many situps per day should i do?

  • I'd like to lose weight and get a flat stomach in a month's time (i have a huge party to go to on the first of june and want to look nice for it) how many situps would i have to do per day to firstly lose as much weight as possible before that time (i'm already on a diet of minimal carbs and mostly lean meat and fruit, very little fat) and get a flat stomach. I'm 5ft and weigh 8 stone, i measure 28inches on the widest part of my stomach, I'd ideally like to go down to 7 1/2 stone and like i said, get a flat/tight stomach so yeah, how many situps per day?.x

    Flat stomach does not come from working out your abs. Instead, flat stomach is achieved through mostly cardio exercise, by reducing your body fat. You can do all the ab workouts, but that just targets your abs under your fat. Example of cardio exercise is to jog, swim, dance, etc.

you can do 100 sits up per day but still won't get you lean. Sit up is to built muscles and they can be hidden under the fat. You need the slow burning exercise by cardio workout like skipping rope, bicycle, or jogging. Cardio work use your fat as fuel. Pick one you enjoy the most and spend at least half hour on it everyday. drink lots of water as it raise your metabolism. Get adequate fruits everyday, but don't eat fruits to feed hunger because you are just adding plenty of sugar. Replace fruits with high protein meal, and it will suppress your hunger better. i.e. oat and nuts, or eat more regular crunchy vege like carrots. Diet by not eating will work for a little while, and then become not effective, because your metabolism (burning process) will slow down by hunger and you get bad mood by hunger. Main thing is motivate yourself, and spend hours on cardio work. if you have stubborn areas then you need more professional help. Life style factor - if you do not have physical day, eat more during day, eat little at night. Sleep well is also an important factor. Expert advise 7-9hrs good sleep essential on weight loss. If you deprive of sleep, or go to bed late at night, you would crave for more sugar.
