How to study for M.Phil?

How to find the motivation to study?

  • I'm in my last year of high school and I REALLY need to study. I always get my tasks done on time but I only put the minimum effort into anything. I'm lazy. It's like I physically can't study. My body just goes "UGH" every time I sit down and try to do anything. Getting distracted by my laptop is the norm...but must of my work is on it so it's tricky to not procrastinate. Even if I work on paper I still don't do it. I'll read a book, stare at walls etc. I can't go on like this. I'll make it through this year without failing everything. I'm still passing all of my subjects...but I'll really struggle at  University like this. I know I could do so much better at school if I could just get myself to  study. Everyone says this is the most important year of my life. I disagree with them but it is still important. I'd like to think I'm pretty smart and that I have potential but how do I tap into that? How does one get the motivation to study? When I tell my family how i don't have much of a plan for the future they assume that means I want to live off them forever and take advantage of my pretty lucky lifestyle...but that isn't even the case. I THINK I know what I'm going to do. But if I don't get a high enough score to get into the course...I can do a different one and still end up with the same qualifications by the end. And that course is really easy to get into. I can't just think "if I don't study I'm screwed". But I know I need to study. I just can't. I want to enjoy everything. Of course I end up either surfing the net, or writing/listening to music etc. It's all fun (though mostly a waste of life) but I can't really bring myself to stop enjoying myself. Childish I know. It feels stupid to study when there is this whole world out there. I want to enjoy it but I don't now how. A bit off topic but you get my point. There's my lack of motivation. So basically...how do I find the motivation to study? Thanks :)

Just imagine yourself lying on the beach with supermodels around you, feeding you grapes. This is what you can have if you study hard, get a good job and earn lots of money. :D Imagine something you really want, but don't have because of money, parents, whatever. Then think, "This is what i can have if i get a good job" Hope this helps! :D
