Do you think I should apply for this Project Worker job?
-
Hello everyone, I'm 20 years old and I live in England. I have seen a Project Worker job that I want to apply for but I'm not to sure about it, let me give you some more information about the job and myself: Job: The job is 5 hours per week term time and 10 hours per week during the holidays, the job would be putting on programme's for children and young people from the ages of 5-16 and possibly to the ages of 19 or 20. They want someone to put on these programme's to develope children and young people in a number of different ways such as in terms of social skills, confidence etc, etc. They want someone that has got experience of working with children and young people and they want someone who knows about safeguarding law and issues and people that know ab local issues that affect young people. Me: I have got 2 months voluntary experience of working with young people, I work with ages of 8-18 year olds. I am a voluntary Project Worker and I work closely with the young people and make them feel involved and included in things. I am quite creative, and I have got quite a few ideas of what I can put into programme's for children and young people. Even though I haven't got much experience I got a temp job as a Youth Worker last month until July and it's 2 and a half hours per week. I'm just really nervous, do you think I should apply for this job or not? Do you think I'll be any good? Thank you in advance for all of your help and advice, I am very grateful.

Answer:
Hi Dan! I'd say you should give it a try. You need to build your CV and this job sounds relevant to what you want to do long term. If you don't get it, never mind, there will be other opportunities but if you don't try you'll always wonder! It sounds like an interesting post, I'm sure you'd be really good at it! :o) Good luck!
