What is the difference between a web server, web browser and web client?
-
I'm confused about the difference, so can you describe all of them and also show how they are connected with each other.

Answer:
If you want to look at information on another machine that machine has to be a server. So just to share files from another machine requires file server running on that machine. ANY machine providing remote services is a server. it can also be a client computer just like yours. For serious information sharing it is normal to use a dedicated server. So information required to be visible to anyone on the Internet is usually put onto a "Web" server. Every page you visit is hosted on a web server. That information is no use to you unless you an actually view it. So you need a program on your computer to do that. So you are provided with "Web" browsers. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Google chrome are all web browsers. They are just programs written to understand web server content in a standard format. A "web" client is any program or machine which can access the information So loosely, your computer is a web client. But this term s also used to refer to the actual web browser when visiting web pages. It also covers other programs like ftp clients, which are programs used to put information onto a web site, or download information from it. Usually when you are downloading a program, music or video you do so using your browser, but this is using an inbuilt "ftp" program, which is a "ftp" client. Since it is based on web browsing it qualifies also as a "web" client.
