What is upload speed in torrents?

  • What is upload speed in torrents? whenever i download any movies i saw there is something uploading. 1. What torrents uploading? is it uploading my pc data to other pc's? 2. How to stop uploading & increase downloading speed? 3. Is this uploading affects downloading speed?

  • Answer:

The concept of torrent is different from that of direct downloads.. The torrent file contains info abt the location of copies of the data u want to download.. When u start the torrent it downloads from the various sources bit by bit and joins to make the complete file... , once u start downloading u also become a source for the file , so any one else downloading the same file get bits uploaded from ur computer.. That is the upload u see, U cant totaly stop this when u r downloading the file ur self , but u may be able to put a cap on the total uploaded data from the settings of the torrent manager. Once download is over u become a seeder and continue to upload the file, at this point u can stop the upload by removing the torrent from the manager or simply stop / disable it. But its always good manners to seed for some time.

1. What torrents uploading? is it uploading my pc data to other pc's? Whatever you are downloading with that torrent file, the same file gets transferred to other users. That means when you leach something you also become a seeder. Torrents upload the same data which you download. 2. How to stop uploading & increase downloading speed? You can stop downloading in bittorrent settings->Bandwidth settings->Uploading speed=1. 3. Is this uploading affects downloading speed? It doesn't affect the downloading Speed.

it depends on your internet connexion speed and on the number of seeders .

Look at seeders vs leachers. Seeders are the people uploading the movie and leachers are the ones grabbing the movie. If you look to your right before you choose a movie, you'll see the number of seeders and leachers, Find the one with the most seeders and it will go faster. Also, read comments to make sure there's no viruses.

It depends on how many seeders there are actually. The more seeders, the quicker it'll be.

Depends on your location.

If you want to get torrents files, then it is only fair/good manners to share around the torrents files you have obtained.
