Photo booth isn't working on my mac? why? help please?

It will take pictures but it won't let me see myself before or during the picture, when I'm taking it. (If that makes sense). And I'm getting is a black screen. Can someone help me fix it? Because a month ago when I used it before then it was fine and everything was showing up. But now it's not.

you mean a webcam,id take it to a computer store and let someone look at it,they might have to remove the top of your laptop.
