Motocross girl questions?
-
Well, im thinking about starting motocross(dirt biking) with some of my guy friends who have been doing it for a long time and are amazing at it! 1. Everything that you need to get started? 2. What kind of bike? I'm a girl, and 5'2 3. If I wanted to enter competitions how many hours of practice would you have to get in a day? week? and would I compete against boys or girls? 4. Random... but what is the stereo type for motocross boys? Girls?

I have had a couple of online pals with whom I chat about this subject. All say you MUST have a good sponsor to back you up financially. If you are going to compete professionally, you will be facing VERY high insurance costs because of possible damage to your bike, or possibly to yourself. Then, there are travel & transportation costs. Safety equipment that you wear is also very costly. Therefore, you definitely need sponsors to cover all those costs. Some riders, like other pro athletes, start by incorporating themselves. For example, you may start a group called MGirl Racing ~ let us say you have 5 partners with each buying a 1/10 share in your partnership or corporation with you owning the other 5/10s. This way the costs and profits are split in the same proportion as the split in the ownership: your partners get 50%, you get the other 50%. Thereafter, if your profits exceed expectations, you may buy out the percentage owned by others. In the past you needed a good publicist to generate good publicity for you. While this is still necessary, now that we have the Internet, you can set up your own website ~ you may include photos of yourself, your schedule, a question-and-answer section from your fans, and a section which posts newspaper or other media articles about yourself. Please be very sure to keep copyrights to all your photos as some people like to make photos, sell them, and profit from your hard work. Also, if you design a logo for yourself and products such as jackets, pennants, helmets, be very sure to have trademark protection. This way no one can unfairly profit from your labors. You know, there is a lot of glamor to being a pro athlete. But gosh, there is so much work involved! As a long standing racing fan, the best riders I have seen are those who start way down on the bottom. You start by learning how to fix the bike, how to change the tires, how to race without needlessly pushing the vehicle to the point where it can get damaged, etc. Luckily, there are a lot of people in the industry who are eager to help young enthused people who wish to have fulfilling careers in racing. My hope is that you can find someone who will eagerly tutor you in all the aspects of this rewarding & exciting, but highly challenging career. It take a lot of hard work, great enthusiasm, much courage, and, yes, a lot of help from others to succeed in this challenging industry. I wish you the very best in this admirable pursuit!

Before I start listing im a 16 yr old girl that races a 2009 cfr250r 1. Bike, track to practice, Gear- Helmet, MX boots are the only things required where I race ... But there's chest protector, gloves, elbow & knee pads, neck brace, jersey, pants, gloves ... I personally wear pants, jersey, boots, chest protector/roost deflector, helmet & gloves; membership card, supplies for your bike a lot of $$$$$$$ 2. Not very good at this :P ... Well it depends your age & weight... But i'd recommened an 85cc 3. If you're serious you should be on your bike 3-4 days a week for atleast 45 mins... Workout- trust me.. Makes a HUGE difference & eat healthy! .. No junk food. There's a women's class which is all women & then there's classes you can race which is with guys 4. We're badass :P ... Honestly it's just a big family at the track =) ... Girl's are gaining way more respect then they previously had from being way faster & being able to ride with the guys ... Pretty much everyone is really nice .. But there's just a few that aren't. I'd recommened you ride alot before you enter races to make sure you're ready... Way easier & less stressfull when you know how to handle each type of track & conditions.. Hope this helps! & good luck (=
