How to plug computer into tv?

How come whenever I plug my HD PVR usb into the computer, the TV goes black?

I've had my PVR for over a year, and now its doing this, is it because of something on my computer thats like 'firewalling' ...something?
Answer:

probably because the TV lose the support for HD PVR..........may need a new one if thats the case.... or its just that you plugged in the wrong hole........ (just an assumption)
