How hard is it to get a job in media?

I plan to move to canada in a few months, how do i get a good job in advertising or media?

  • i've been running a small advertising/media outfit in my country, but my wife is studying in canada and has fallen in love with it. Now i want to move there but not sure if i can get a senior position in an advertising or marketing role in canada. I would like to write their professional exam but dont know how to go about it

  • Answer:

I think you had better read up on Canada's immigration laws. Unless your wife put you down as a dependent on her study permit application (and you provided proof to Citizenship and Immigration Canada that she could support you and you went through the background and medical checks), you can't move to Canada nor can you work there. Even if she did this, you must still apply for a temporary work permit and neither of you can stay once her study permit expires. Even if you have a work permit, there is no assurance you will find work and most companies looking for professionals aren't looking to hire people with temporary work permits. You also make finding "senior" work extremely difficult if you are limiting your job search to a specific city.
