Keeping a mini lop rabbit?

• im getting a mini lop rabbit soon and its going to be an indoor rabbit iv been doing research on rabbits for the past 5 moths and iv got every thing prepared, i think i know just about every thing their is to know about rabbit care and the breed. iv found a breeder who has been doing it for 7 years and although she lives a bit of a way away from me and her rabbits are quit a bit more expensive iv decided to go with her. i do not want to breed or show my rabbit.im going to preferably get a buck because they tend to be more solitary,how ever it would always be with me any way and the most amount of time its goingto be alown is 6 hours and im going to neuter/spay it and keep it up to date with its vaccines. my question is, is their anything that is not really mentioned about keeping/caring for rabbits in the books+mags+internet, that i might need to know?

  Great for you for doing your research. I've kept rabbits for years (and years) and one thing I've learned is that I'm never done learning about rabbits! I'd be very careful about getting a rabbit from a breeder. Many are in it for the money and sell their rabbits too young (before 8 weeks). (I'll put under "sources" why this is important.) Also, their rabbits are never vet-checked. Babies are not only very fragile, but you cannot determine what their personality will be like. Each rabbit truly is unique in temperament. It's just that you cannot see that until they are neutered. My preference has always been to go with a rescue rabbit because they are already fixed, vet-checked, personality visible (bunny and you can choose each other) and possibly litter trained.
