Gothic Room Ideas Anyone?

  • When you heard the word "Gothic", I assume that you considered me a female in one way or another. Anyways, my point is, we are moving, and my dad bought a big house and I decided that I want my room to be in the basement. I am a guy by the way, I'm 16 and I'll be turning 17 soon and I love emo/goth styles. My dad told me that I get to choose how I want my room to look, from the wall color to the carpet or tiles or flooring to the decorations. I want it to look as scary and goth as possible but no black walls, I already figured out the color of my walls. I want two sides to be dark red and two other sides to be dark grey. As for the floor, I don't want a carpet, I was hoping for a parquet or wood but I don't know what might match with the colors of the wall that would make it look scary. I also want to know about the furniture, the bed sheets, the shelves and all that. Also, I really hope to get a pet snake soon, my dad is completely ok with it but my mom has a terrible phoebia on snakes and she is terrified of them, so she said no. How can I convince her to get one, knowing that she will have to enter my room eventually to make my bed or something.

    If you wanna get a snake so bad. why don't you make your bed yourself. you will need to be capable of that when you move out of your house. If you can't remember just make your mom remind you to do it. and if you don't know how to do it make your mom show you. then she wouldn't have to go into your room and see a snake.

You shouldn't be actively trying to scare people, especially your phobic mother. And I agree with the answerer above me - I think you are trying to hard. But..... that doesn't answer your question. So, to answer your question: 1) For things such as cloth, like your bed or your couch, grab some sheets and put them outside in a place to get messy. Then, put some acrylic paint on a brush and fling (not paint, fling) it on it like a nice, healthy blood splatter. 2) Pictures. Get a lot. And frames. Now, get some grey acrylic and paint it up. Then, do something nice with the frame. Cobwebs, put some screws in, whatever. Then, a thin, semi-transparent coat of black from a spray can. 3) Candles and skulls. Candles and skulls. Candles and skulls. You can find a million of them anywhere. 4) This is a personal affinity, but weapons. Older ones, such as a home-made mini-guillotine, some rapiers and sabers, a claymore, a crossbow. Always fun to play with too. 5) Art. Goya, da Vinci, Vasquez. All are amazing.
