How do I find the mass number (amu), atomic number, number of neutrons, number of electrons, and charge of?

You can read all that from periodic table of elements. For instance, oxygen (O) has atomic number 8. This is also the number of electrons and the number of protons. N(e-) = N(p+) = 8. Mass number is usually written above the symbol in periodic table, for oxygen it is 16,00. To find out the number of neutrons; n(n)= mass number - n(p+) = 16,00 - 8 = 8. Therefore, oxygen has 8 protons, 8 electrons and 8 neutrons. Unless you see + or - with a symbol of an element (e.g. H+ or Cl-), it is neutral, meaning it does not have a charge (the number of protons (+) is equal to the number of electrons (-)). H+ has a positice charge, while Cl- has a negative charge.
