Does audiopipe make good subs?

How can I make my subs louder without distortion or clipping?

  • Last year I bought these crappy 1200 watt subs (do not ever buy). http://www.amazon.com/XXX-Car-Audio-Pair-Subs/dp/B002U8573K/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1336841506&sr=1-1 Recently I upgraded to a 1500 watt mono amp and was pleasantly surprised. The only thing is that I can't turn the amp up past maybe a third or half way without them distorting (sounds kind of like a piece of paper is jammed in there or something). 1) Is it more likely that the subs are the reason for the distortion or that the amp is the reason for the distortion? (I feel like the subs just can't handle the lows that loud or something) 2) If I upgrade to some kicker crv's, would they be louder and would I be able to turn the gain up more? 3) Should I turn down the subs settings on the HU and just mess with the amp?

  • Answer:

crappy subs can sound decent on a good amp, but good speakers on a crappy amp will always sound like a%^. what amp ya get is the big question? link??
