How many jobs would the Keystone pipe line create?

Would OBAMA support two common sense ways to create jobs: Repeal Obamacare & Build Keystone Pipeline?

  • Obamacare law imposes federal penalties on every single job in the USA unless it comes with expensive comprehensive healthcare coverage dictated by the federal government. This means if someone wanted to expand a fast food chain THEY CAN'T. Unless they got a waiver (i.e. donated to Obama's re-election campaign) they cannot afford to compete in this business sector at all. At best they can stay put and brace themselves and hope the Supreme Court throws the law out. Don't take my word for it, former Obama supporter Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz finally realized this and now supports repeal. As for Keystone...finishing the pipeline will be instant jobs, and then long term too. And adding a new souce of American oil would have the inate value of pressuring speculators of oils futures to lower the futures price and bring the price down right now helping all Americans.

  • Answer:

America needs to repeal Obama and build Romney

Neither action would have any meaningful effect on unemployment. Nice try

As likely as the cons would support Single payer health care and the Obama jobs bill which would have created 2 million jobs instead of the pultry 13000 of the keystone pipeline. Too bad not a single Republican supported "Obamacare" enough to pass it without the indvidual mandate. Instead they filibustered it, the mandate, the brain child of Republicans, was added in a vain attempt to attract Republican support.

Have you seen what has happened to Appalachian mining and our coal plants? More "stimulus" through unemployment benefits and food stamps. Thank YOU Obama EPA. More growth. In the wrong direction. True Americans, those who believe in American Values, The Constitution and Equality of Opportunity, know what they know well. Loving it. To earn one''s place in life and happiness. That's Truly Just and Equal. Not privileges for minorities, Not equality of outcome. Certainly NOT dependency and greed for the wealth and property of others.

The issue with Obamacare is not whether CEO's can afford it, its the small business owners who now have to provide health insurance. The increase in costs will lead to layoffs and significant profit losses. I partially agree with Keystone. The issue is most american oil is exported rather than used here. It used as some assistance to Euro countries that dont have sources of oil and are at the power of OPEC

We would NOT GET THE OIL! Canada is selling the oil to the higher bidder, China. But........ they need to get to the refinery ports in the Gulf. And also, gas for our cars is more expensive now because the oil companies say we are driving LESS. So less demand means less profits so prices go up. And once again, we are not negotiating using our land to transport the oil to benefit American fuel prices (we could have made demands in Iraq on those oil fields, but no.) As for Obamacare, government screws up everything.

Of course the CEO's will NOT support this. They can afford health care left and right. Its not really about what a CEO says because he is one citizen among 307 million. The only reason why I DO NOT support Obamacare is because we can't afford it. Just like we can't afford to be spending 900 billion on defense!

It is debatable how many temporary jobs would be created by building the XL pipeline extension to Texas. The procedures used to extract oil from tar sands is not completely without risk and the fracking procedure has ruined the ecology in our our Appalachia. There are plenty of oil jobs in North Dakota right now without fracking. The waivers were granted to allow business with low cost health plans a stopgap measure to prevent a disruption in the insurance market upon implementation of the new legislation. If employers drop drop their plans (if they employee under 50) individuals will be able to buy their own insurance from an exchange group rates. The changes under federal health reform will eventually allow employers to offer better, more affordable coverage under the health insurance exchange, when it begins operating in 2014.
