yes, the brain generates frequencies which have different effects upon the psyche. There are apparently and essentially four major wave ranges. There are the Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Theta ranges. The entire range including all of these is from zero to about 20 cycles per second. These brain frequencies can be stimulated by sounds of the same frequencies (or electrical impulses of minimal values). The frequency for alertness and learning would be in the Beta range which is from 14 to 20 waves per sec. Creativity and imagination (and visions) is associated with the Theta range which is from 3 to 8 beats per sec. You can google all this stuff too,.
