Is nursing a good career choice?

  • hello (: ok, my school have kinda been getting at me to think about possible career choices, do I can choose what I want to study at college. One of my thoughts was nursing, because I really live to help people and take care of people, but is this a good career prospect? I like biology but I'm not a massive fan of chemistry and physics and I'd like to study psychology. Anyone got any advice? Thanks for your time (:

    Hi I have been a Nurse for 22 years & still love it.You won't have to do physics....but chemistry & biologhy are a must. Go with what you heart tells you & you won't regret it.

I like it so far, but it also depends on what school you have. My school was very skills based and pushed skills from day one like IV, medication administration, inserting foleys, sterile technique, wound packing, etc in the first semester. My friend's school did nothing but vitals, bed baths, bed making, and charting the first semester so he was a bit disheartened and quit the program.
