How to apply for work permit to work in different countries?

How I could get a permit work visa from the Schengen countries? Could anyone please help, it is urgently.?

I would like to know: 1. what are the required documents to get a permit visa from the Schengen countries? 2. How long could the visa take? 3. Is it ok if I got the permit visa to Italy then I worked permanently in Portugal? 4. How I could find a reasonable career in the schengen countries?

Common visa valid for all 26 Schengen countries are only issued for a short stay (up to 90 days in six months) to tourist or business travellers. Long-stay visa which authorize to live and work in ONE Schengen country are issued based on the individual immigration law of that particular country. At present there is no common visa which authorizes to live and work in all Schengen countries. A proposal was made to issue a common "blue card" to highly qualified foreigners in 2009 but that was postponed based on the current economical situation. You need to follow the individual requirements of ONE country in which you plan to live and work. An Italian work and residence permit would not allow you to work in Portugal..
