What is it like being a midwife?

I would like to be either a midwife or a neonatal nurse, what A levels do i need and what degree?

  • I really want to work with babies, i firstly wanted to be a midwife but i thought a neonatal nurse was more involved with babies. I just wanted to know what A levels i need and what Uni courses i would need to do? Which career do you think is best?

  • Answer:

You need your Bachlors degree in Nursing for both. But Midwifery also involved some post -degree courses. Also with midwifery you need to be able to travel to remote areas in order to gain experience.....this is usually accomplished with the assistance of a Licenced Midwife with the knowledge to do so. I have worked in Peds ,& have some experience with neonatal. Now I work in an ICU department, which is an experience in itself. Good luck with your career choice......whatever you choose I am sure you will love it.
