Anybody have experience with an ovarian cyst?
-
around 2 months ago i found out that i have an ovarian cyst in my left ovary. I have been having pains since i had my daughter and since it was my first baby i didnt know if it was normal or not. well, now a year and 3 months later i find out it is actually a cyst. well, i have medi-cal and the ob/gyn offices really descriminate against ppl that dont have good insurance. After i finally found out what i had, a few months ago, I was just given some ibuprofin and some birth control pills to reduce the size of the cyst. I have been in tons and tons of pain to the point that it hurts me to walk. It hurts to sleep and when i wake up omg it kills me. I am nauseated and dizzy and theres just tons of pains that i am having and whenever i go into the doctors office or call the doc they make me feel lyk if i have no reason to be calling or lyk if i was an idiot. I am in so much pain i am almost to tears when i walk and worse of all i am a stay at home mom so i have to suck it up and clean and take care of my daughter all day long and i have nothing to fix this problem. I need to find a job to pay the bills and i am not sure that i will even be able to take the pain. if anybody has experienced this pain or has any remedies please let me know. I dont have another appt til next week. I am changing docs to see if i get a better one and the soonest apt is still a week away.

I have had an experience with an ovarian cyst, or rather a tumor... Please don't let anyone treat you awfully like this! Those people at the doctor's office are crazy for doing that! Don't let them make you feel inferior, put up a fight if you have to. :( Anyhow, I have experienced the same exact symptoms you have, except I had a tumor the size of a football in my right ovary that ended up being cancer (Cancer free for 3 years now though! And I can still have children like any normal person!)...There was not much I could do to reduce the pain and my dad always had to help me walk (or rather limp), but I usually tried not to sleep on my right side. I also found that a heating pad helped ease the pain, if only a little bit...Of course take any pain medication you can to reduce that pain, and try not to do any vigorous exercise or overwork yourself. That will make the pain much worse. And please don't delay going to the doctor's. If it's getting this bad, to the point where you are IN TEARS when you walk, you ought to go right away, as soon as you possibly can. I understand that you have to pay bills, but please understand that nothing is more important than your health!! It's much better to take care of the problem now instead of waiting it out. You'll only have a harder time accomplishing your tasks, if you go to the doctor now they can help you feel better faster so you can be more efficient when you go to work. Also, keep an eye on any fevers you have. The nurses always told me to go to the ER if my fever ever went to 101 degrees, but that might just be because I'm a cancer patient. But if you're running a high fever, go to the ER ASAP! Also try to keep an eye on your diet. Baked chicken or fish is good, tea is good, vegetables, fruits, etc. Try not to eat anything heavy. I understand what you're going through. Unfortunately there's not much you can do right now to ease the pain other than what I said, but you will feel much much better after seeing the doctor. And once again, please don't let those lousy people who call themselves medical professionals treat you this way!! They don't understand what you're going through and are being a bunch of jerks. As for being a stay at home, I understand how you need to suck it up and take care of your daughter...Is it possible for someone to take care of her or keep an eye on her while you go to the doctor? Please try to see the doctor as soon as you possibly can! I know I keep emphasizing this, and I can't emphasize it enough. Getting a job and paying bills can wait, right now your health is most important and you should not have to sacrifice it for the sake of those bills. The sooner you are treated, the better. You don't want anything to get worse! Best of luck to you and take care. Feel better soon! <3

Yes - i have experience with ovarian cysts. When i was a teenager i had 2 really large ones on one ovary - the specialist used the contraceptive pill to reduce the size of mine and yes 6 weeks later they were gone. Now i'm in my 20's and I have Polycystic ovarian syndrome - which means i have heaps of little cysts on my ovaries. (I had to have 60 surgically removed) If you are in that much pain then i suggest when you go to the doctors next ask to have another test to see if the cyst has disappeared. Otherwise i would go to the emergency department - because you should not have to go through that much pain - obviously something is wrong and i completely understand how you feel! I wish you all the very best! Hope this helped
