Can I be fired from corporate without notice?

Can I leave work before my 2 weeks notice is over or will I be fired?

  • I recently put in my 2 weeks notice with Walmart, and my 2 weeks will fall on the 15th(Tuesday). I have been working at my new job on top of finishing out my 2 weeks and I am exhausted, and just getting a ride to Walmart has also become a major problem, this is the main reason I got my new job. By the time I finish working at Walmart I will have worked over 15 days straight at both jobs combined. I want to just quit Walmart because It's so much compiled stress, but I'm wondering if I just stop showing up will that be considered quitting still, or will they fire me? I only have a total of 3 days left with them. Thanks!

I can imagine it must be very hard working 2 jobs, especially if you don't drive and need to find a ride to work on top of it. If you had several days left to work at Walmart my answer might be different, but Walmart is very picky about being given 2 weeks notice and if you leave now they will give you a bad review when a future employer asks if you were a good employee. I'd hate for you to lose a good reference when you just have 3 days to go. If I were you I'd try to stick it out. I think in the end you'll be glad you did. Good luck.

I would just stick it out, no point in leaving on a bad note with only 3 days left, tough it out champ.

I agree, stick it out. One summer, I would have to get up at 5, do the farm chores, be in the field by 6 to pull weeds, got an hour lunch, worked til 3. Went home cleaned up, and worked at my fast food job from 5-11. You'll be fine to work the last three days. And as for the if you dont show up, i think its still considered voluntarily quit, that way they dont have to pay unemployment.

Why did you start the new job before the end of the notice!?!??? You were not required to give notice. You chose to because it is the right thing to do. Don't undo that by leaving four days early. Jeez.
