Does the PSN Store allow Debit Card payments?

• Today, after about 6 months of activity, I logged back into PSN. I now have a debit card, and would like to use some of my checking account for buying digital goods from the PSN store. I was able "to trick" the account management to accept my debit card. (When it asked for my credit card information, I gave it my debit card information instead, and it accepted it.) Will this work not only for the PSN store, but for other online services? Will I be able to buy things using debit card payments? One more thing: under "view cart" in the store, I had the option to "add funds." The max amount of money I could add was about $149.90, which I believe is the current balance in my checking account that is linked to my debit card.

It works as a credit card, just using your own money, its great when you don't want to waste time going to the store to buy a PSN card. Plus you can put things in your cart and only check out with the exact amount of purchase like $24.99 so you wouldn't have to add $40 to your account.
