Should I break up with my boyfriend?

My boyfriend is very affectionate with his MALE and GAY best friend! How do I break them apart?

  • Okay, I am normally alright with... odd things, but even I have a limit to what I can handle. My boyfriend of 4 months now is straight, I think. He has a best friend who apparently has been in his life ever since he can remember. Said 'best friend' is a gay guy. Now that's not the odd thing, it is these things that I've noticed: 1. Every time they see each other, they hug! Every single time! I mean, my boyfriend doesn't even do that to me, his own girlfriend! 2. The gay guy kisses him on the cheek sometimes. And my boyfriend doesn't even get embarrassed about it, even in public! He just acts like its completely normal! 3. They are okay with sharing the same drink, even eating from the same plate sometimes! Whenever my boyfriend kisses me I feel like I'm indirectly kissing that gay guy, YUCK! 4. My boyfriend is into the whole gay straight alliance thing, I don't understand that. They are like representatives of the local group. Must be because the gay guy influenced him. 5. They share clothes. I saw the gay wearing the green sweater that belongs to my boyfriend, that is so weird. 6. They have spare keys to each others house, my boyfriend didn't give me a key to his house! 7. One time when I went to my boyfriend's house early in the morning, his best friend was the one who opened the door! Both of them were half naked (they didn't have shirts on)!!! 8. When I was meeting with my boyfriend's parents, he said "I don't care what they think of you, only ___(the gay!!!)'s opinion matters to me." That's not all. A couple of days ago, my boyfriend admitted to me that there was a period in his life during school that he truly thought he was gay for his best friend! They went out together, and my boyfriend actually came out of the closet to his parents! But then after a month, he realized it wouldn't work, and he was actually straight after all. He said he wasn't even bisexual. How do I ask the gay to leave us alone? I have a loving relationship with my boyfriend, I don't need him ruining it for me! Should I ask my boyfriend to choose between the two of us?

    Referencing the guy as "the gay" is a jackass move. You don't deserve your boyfriend, he should dump you! People have feelings, you know. Gay people have just as much rights as anyone else, and you treating them like a piece of **** is just wrong. They might have something together... Or they could just be best friends who are very close. I know I've shared clothing with my best friend who's straight. Ugh. You disgust me. Go cry in a hole, homophobe, and realize gays are people, and they make society a better place. WE ARE PEOPLE.

Seems like your boyfriend made his choice as to which one of the two of you comes first, I would suggest explaining to him you can't play second fiddle to his "friend" or walk away with martial dignity. The guy isn't bothering you guys. You have to understand there are three relationships. The boyfriend girlfriend relationship you guys have, the two friendship relatonship between the two guys and the hostile one you have with the guy. You can either accept the reality of your boyfriend's important friendship or don't. It's what's ruining ou life. Not the gay best friend. Why are you so threatened by his friend. In the end if everything you said is true you can choose between your hate/prejudice or your boyfriend.

I quit reading half way through, because you sound like a selfish b*tch. You obviously don't like gay people, and you're using your boyfriend's friendship as a weapon. What you described is a normal friendship, not a romantic relationship.

You don't break them apart. If you love your boyfriend you don't try to dictate who can and cannot be his friend. 1. It's normal for close friends to hug. If you want more hugs from your boyfriend hug him first. 2. There is also nothing wrong with a man kissing another man on the cheek. 3. There is nothing wrong with friends sharing drinks. I share my best friend's drinks when we're at the movies and have bought a big drink. 4. Your boyfriend is most likely in the alliance to support his friend, not because he friend influenced him. 5. I share clothes with my sisters and my best friend there is nothing wrong with it. 6. My best friend has a key to my place for emergencies. When I was dating my boyfriend did not. 7. So what, I've answered my best friend's door in various stages of dress if I spent the night. 8. That was rude. You don't ask the friend to leave you two alone. You do not have the right to control who your boyfriend's friends are, you are his girlfriend not his mother and it's not your place to run his life. Your boyfriend's friend is not the one who is ruining your relationship with your boyfriend. You are the one who risks ruining your relationship with your petty jealousy and controlling attitude. If you ask your boyfriend to choose between the two of you, you won't like the choice because you won't be chosen.
