How to texture a model in LWJGL?

How do 3d model nets work?

  • I made a 3d model for my game in blender. It is looking pretty good but I do not know how to texture it. I see textures made as nets by other people. How do I know how to co ordinate where these nets go on the 3d model. I cant seem to just make a net and drag it onto the model it doesnt fit. How do I do this?

  • Answer:

I've never used Blender but the concepts are the same for all 3d programs. You can just assign your model, or components of it, with colors and stock textures like bricks in your color picker, wherever that is in Blender (see help.......). Real, sophisticated texturing is done with texture mapping or UV mapping, which are similar. That's way too complicated to discuss here, plus I studied it but I'm not an expert. Google "texture mapping" or "UV mapping" and you'll get what you need to get started, at least.
