Why can't I customize my Tumblr?

I want to add an image to the background of my theme. Where ever look up how to do it, it tells me to go to customize,themes,and customize html then copy the code. BUT I dont even get the customize html code option, I only get an edit html option,so I click that and the code comes up. But when i try to copy it, i dont get a copy option! When I right click I on;y get a paste option! This is very annoying. I also wanted to change my "profile" or "default" picture,but I completely forget how to do that too. PLease help! Much love!

Press CTRL+W to bring up the options to do that.
