Hypertrophic scar treatment?
-
I had my nose pierced over 7 years ago but after mistreating it it became scarred so i took it out 2 years ago. Since then I have been left with an awful hypertrophic scar which hasn't improved or changed in the past 2 years. It's left a raised lump on my nose which is also a purpley ish colour. I've tried a silicone anti-scar gel called "Ciltech" specifically for the reduction of hypertrophic scars, which i've been using constantly for over a year but has made no difference. No doctors have been able to help other than tell me its a hypertrophic scar not a keloid scar, other than that no-one has a clue how to improve it.

Answer:
Maybe you have to live with it for the rest of your life, but I would continue with the anti-scar gel, it couldn't make it worse but the chance that it's getting better are much higher..
