How do I get my 5 month old to sleep in his crib?

How can I get my 5 month old to sleep in her crib?

  • I have tried doing the naps in her crib. She usually takes about 1-2 hr naps through the day anyways. So we're still doing the naps in her crib but at night, when it's time to go to bed, I put her in the crib, she'll fall asleep but wake up almost an hour later, upset and scared. So instead, I put her back in her bassinet and she goes straight to sleep. How can I make her crib feel more like her bassinet? Additional notes: I don't rock her to sleep or anything. She's pretty independent so I just lay her in her bassinet and she goes right to sleep with that thumb in her mouth.

Other answers

You could try putting the mattress and bedding from the bassinet into the crib. Or, when she wakes up, just take her into your bed, cosset and calm her, give her some milk if you're still breasting, and put her back into the crib when she falls asleep.
